2019 has well and truly kicked off at Carinity Education Southside!
It’s only Week 5 of the first term for the year and already we have seen an enormous new group of girls commence here at Southside, new friendships forming and past friendships developing; a new group of senior leaders to help guide their younger peers and we have welcomed Bill, our new English teacher!
New students have been placed into the transition group at the school while they settle in and find their feet here. The girls are then making the decision themselves to begin attending their classes with other girls from their year group. The transition group has been a positive step towards ensuring our girls always feel comfortable, safe and supported within this new school environment.
Our returning students are straight back into the grind, working hard and accommodating new students in their classes.
We couldn’t be more proud of our 2019 senior class who haven’t wasted any time in continuing on with their VET courses to ensure they receive their certificates and enough points for a QCE at the end of the year.
We’ve also begun planning for an upcoming event where we will celebrate both Harmony Day and International Women’s Day together. Students have been excitedly seeking out ideas and suggestions for the day, creating decorations to be hung around the school and organising themselves for performances on the day.
It’s safe to say that it’s very busy here at Southside and we are all looking forward to what this year holds for us!
