Hospitality students greeting guests

“A bellisimo dining experience”… that was the overall feedback from patrons who attended Bell Cibo (meaning beautiful food), this years Southside Restaurant on Friday, 23rd June, the last day of Term 2, 2017.

Seventeen guests, family and friends of students from Years 11 and 12 celebrated Restaurant Day with staff at Carinity Education Southside. Bell Cibo was the major service event for Years 11 and 12 Hospitality students, helping them mark off many units of work for their Certificates in Hospitality.

The theme of this year’s restaurant was beautiful Italian food, and judging from the feedback given by guests, that is exactly what the girls provided! Beautiful food, beautiful service, and a beautiful restaurant ambiance which included music, table settings and Italian flags. A big thank you to Aunty Nicole for helping with the set-up of the restaurant.

Upon arrival, guests were offered ‘mocktails’, the recipes for these were designed by the Year 11 Hospitality students., guests were also given a formal welcome as they walked through the doors of the school. well as seasonal fruits and vegetables. For our main courses we had two options; chicken mozzarella with pumpkin and feta ravioli and Italian

sausage or ricotta and spinach cannelloni.

Dessert followed with a selection of profiteroles with chocolate sauce, lemon and raspberry sorbet as well as pistachio gelato.

All the students did an incredible job and all worked together exceptionally well to create an awesome day for guests and staff. A huge thank you and congratulations to our Hospitality students for remaining professional, serious and calm throughout the day.
